Earlier this spring, I organized an event at Cuyana with the Golden Gate Mother's Group's Careers & Entrepreneurs group. During the evening we had the opportunity to hear from CEO, founder, (and new mama), Karla Gallardo on how she took her vision for "fewer better things" from a hat business in NYC to the popular SF brand its become today. Her story focused on vision, collaboration, hard work, and commitment to quality. Karla saw a need in the market for thoughtful, quality items and was able to seize an opportunity to make her dream come true. At the time, luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Valentino moved their factories East for cheaper production leaving family-owned factories in Italy and South America out of work. Cuyana brought the jobs back while gaining access to some of the world's finest leather makers and artisans--and it shows.
At $395 the Cuyana Work Satchel is the sexiest laptop bag on the market. It has the finishes of a much, much more expensive handbag. Made in Italy, the satchel boasts gold-tone hardware, premium Italian leathers, micro suede lining, and four feet on the bottom. Well equipped to hold a 13' MacBook Air, folders, notebook, wallet, makeup, phone, and keys, the satchel also features an adjustable strap for cross body or single shoulder wear. I opted for the Le Sud Tassel add on for an additional $35. If you're in the market for a new work bag - look no further. The Work Satchel also comes in a Clay and Quartz smooth leather finish.
